Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a submission that can be applied when you are going for an open guard pass and your opponent traps you in half guard. As Lucas goes for the pass, his opponent traps him in half guard. As soon as this happens, Lucas controls the head and arm while at the same time keeps the pressure on him and looks away to avoid the the opponent’s frame. He also keeps his untrapped knee close to his opponents hips to prevent his opponent from recomposing the guard. Lucas then uses his right hand to pull out the opponents lapel and feeds it under the arm, to his other hand under the back of the opponent's head. At this point, Lucas must take his trapped knee out by turning his hips to point his knee up and then sliding his knee in, like a knee cut pass. He then loops his right arm over the opponent's arm and under his chin to switch the lapel grips from his left hand to his right hand. He then slides his left hand up the same lapel so he can then bring his elbow over the opponent’s neck finishing with the cross choke submission.
