Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to escape and pass an opponent's half guard. Lucas begins in his opponent’s half guard. He clubs the back, gripping the opponent’s lapel, and uses his arm and elbow to block his opponent’s hip and thigh, respectively. Then he switches his hips to escape his knee and immediately reestablishes the under hook. Now Lucas turns his knee for a knee-cut. He uses the grip on the lapel to turn the opponent away and creates space. This allows his to finish cutting his knee through and establish the side control position.
