Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates how to pass an opponent’s half guard when they have the knee shield and get to the knee on belly finishing with the cross choke submission. The opponent has Lucas in their half guard with the knee shield. Lucas brings the same side hand under the opponent’s knee shield and grips the opposite knee. He uses his other hand to grip the collar. Once his grips are established Lucas starts putting his weight on the opponent and starts lifting both of his knees. He then cuts his outside knee over the opponent’s leg and starts going to the side. Once on the opponent’ side, he establishes the knee on belly position. The opponent tries to escape by pushing on Lucas’ knee and shrimps out. Lucas takes advantage of this and switches his collar grip using his other hand to grab the opposite collar. He then leans in, places his other knee on the mat and get the cross choke submission on the opponent.
