Description

Professor Lucas Lepri explains how to escape a headlock on the ground while an opponent is attempting to strike him, and shows two submission options after achieving back control. The situation begins with the opponent applying a headlock and taking Lucas to the ground. Lucas keeps his body turned toward the opponent and blocks punches to his face by framing his bottom arm against the opponent’s bicep. Lucas then circles his outside arm around the opponent’s arm that is applying the headlock and frames under on the opponent’s neck and face. Shifting his hips close to the opponent, Lucas hooks his top leg over the opponent’s leg. If possible he grapevines the leg. Then, he extends the frame on his opponent’s neck and places the hand on the floor. At the same time, he uses the toes of his bottom leg to lift his hips and place the knee on the ground. Lucas escapes the bottom arm and uses it to base on the floor. Using that same hand, he holds his opponent’s wrist and pulls his head out of the headlock. Maintaining his grip on the wrist, Lucas submits his opponent with an armlock similar to a kimura by pulling the arm across and up the back. If Lucas loses his grip on the arm, he applies a rear naked choke.
