Description

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a back take when the opponent attempts to block a knee cut pass with a lasso. When Lucas attempts to apply the knee cut, the opponent attempts to counter with a lasso. Lucas immediately closes his elbow to his body to prevent the opponent from completing the lasso, and he uses his other hand to hold the opponent’s ankle. He then escapes his other hand from the partial lasso and grips the opponent’s back. Lucas back steps around the opponent’s back, maintaining his grip on the opponent’s ankle and back. When the opponent attempts to turn into Lucas, Lucas releases the ankle and reaches the arm across the opponent’s body to block the hips. Lucas then either waits for the right moment to apply the cross face, or, if the opponent turns away, Lucas allows him to turn and reaches the arm over the opponent’s shoulder. From here, Lucas steps over the opponent and drags him back to the mat to complete the back take.
