Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get the monoplata or armbar, after attempting to pass using the knee cut pass and the opponent defends with the reverse de la riva. Lucas goes for the knee cut pass and the opponent immediately starts to defend by framing and going to the reverse de la riva. Lucas grips the bottom wrist and pins it on the mat. He now allows the opponent to get the under hook, so he can slide his other knee in to block the opponent. This allows Lucas to get to the mount position. Lucas once again allows the opponent to get the under hook. As soon as he goes for the under hook, Lucas brings his leg up to trap the arm. From here, Lucas falls to the side and gets the monoplata. If the opponent escapes the arm, then Lucas immediately transitions to the armbar.
