Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to pass an opponent’s guard who is playing the lasso and spider guard. Lucas starts passing by circling his hand under and over the opponent’s lasso leg and grips the inside of the leg. The opponent tries to reach for Lucas’ sleeve and Lucas pulls the opponent’s leg and pinches it in between his own legs. He uses his other hand to grip the opponent’s collar. Lucas now reaches and grips the inside of the lasso leg with the hand he used to slide the opponent’s leg in between his. The grip on the collar is now switched to the inside of the opposite knee. With both grips on the knees, Lucas steps back and pulls the legs down in between his legs. Lucas then drops his outside knee behind the opponent’s legs. If the opponent is still holding Lucas’ sleeve, then Lucas passes over the opponent to the side control. If the opponent releases the sleeve grip, then Lucas can reach for the back and works on the back take.
