Professor Lucas Lepri explains how to pass an opponent's spider and lasso guard when he is unable to circle his hand out of the opponent's lasso. Lucas first grips the opponent's lapel to minimize the effectiveness of the lasso control. He then steps to the side of the opponent's spider and kneels on the leg. Next, Lucas clears the lasso with his elbow and applies pressure to lift his opponent's hips off of the mat. He finishes by knee cutting into side control as the opponent's hips fall back to the floor.
