Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get the straight ankle lock after attempting to sweep the opponent with a Lasso. Lucas is in the open guard and breaks the grip so he can get the lasso. The same leg that was used for the Lasso is now placed in between the opponent’s legs. The other foot is used to post on the mat so Lucas can push the opponent to try to sweep. In this scenario, the opponent defends by pushing Lucas to the side and applies pressure. Lucas tries to use his top leg to push the opponent away, but the opponent defends. Lucas now uses his bottom foot to hook the opponent’s leg. He now slides the opponent’s leg up so he can get the ankle lock submission.
