Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get the side control from the tripod sweep. Lucas is playing the open guard and has one grip on the pants and the other on the opposite sleeve. From there, he does the Lasso bringing one leg over and under the arm he has the sleeve grip on. Lucas then does the Tripod sweep by hooking the Lasso foot behind the opponent’s same side knee and pushes the opponent down. Once the opponent is swept, Lucas maintains both pants and sleeve grips. He brings his foot out and comes up while pulling the leg up to prevent the opponent from coming up with him. He the releases the sleeve grip and goes for a knee cut pass to side control.
