Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get the toe hold submission, after attempting to open the closed guard by making the opponent readjust. The opponent has Lucas in the closed guard and Lucas reaches for the belt with both hands. As he pushes on the belt, he moves himself away making the opponent readjust their guard. Lucas locks his elbows over the legs to prevent the opponent from attacking them. He stands up and steps in so he can place his knee in between the opponents. Lucas comes back down and tries to use his knee to open the guard, but the opponent keeps the guard closed and tries to sweep Lucas to the side. As soon as this happens, Lucas counters by going to the one leg x. In this variation, instead of sweeping, Lucas immediately under hooks the opponent’s near side foot and locks in the toe hold.
