Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to reverse an opponent who is trying to pass his guard and gets to the side control. Lucas is playing the open guard and the opponent starts to pass. The opponent has a grip on Lucas’ collar and goes for the sleeve grip. Lucas loops his arm under the opponent’s sleeve grip and uses his opposite hand to grip the top of the sleeve. Lucas starts to turn and push the opponent away to make him post on the mat. He traps the leg and keeps pushing the opponent’s arm away. As the opponent tries to attack Lucas, he helps him bring his arm in and rolls him forward. Lucas lands on the opponent’s side and controls the knee and hips. He then shrimps out and establishes the side control.
