Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from the north south position, after a failed side control escape. Lucas is in the opponent’s side control position and his hands are controlling the opponent's shoulder. Lucas attempts to escape from the side control by pushing the opponent, but the opponent immediately transitions to the north south position. To escape this position, Lucas starts by gripping the opponent’s belt in the middle. He rocks his legs side to side and then pushes on the belt extending his arm as he comes up on his other shoulder. From here, Lucas escapes and can go to the closed guard.
