Side Control Escape when Opponent Transitions (Intermediate)

October 06, 2021 on 14:02 315 1

Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from the side control position, when the opponent opens the arm to transition. Lucas is in the opponent’s side control position and grips the shoulder. One arm is gripping the inside of the shoulder and the other on the outside. Lucas bends his knee to prevent the opponent from passing. He now curls himself under the opponent by pushing with his knee and pushing the shoulder out with his hands. This makes the opponent reposition his grips to block the hip. When the opponent switches the grips, Lucas immediately pushes the shoulder away to escape and comes up.
