Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take the opponent down after attempting a single leg takedown. Both the opponent and Lucas are standing and have collar and arm control. Lucas uses his elbow to break the grip and immediately goes for the single leg on the same side. He then feeds the lapel to the single leg hand. The opponent tries to defend by gripping Lucas’ collar and pushes away. Lucas takes this opportunity to trip the ankle and take the opponent down. In this variation, the opponent now controls the same side lapel and sleeve. This allows Lucas to post his free hand on the mat, he shifts the hip he uses his knee to push the opponent’s leg to the side. From here, Lucas goes to the side control position.
