Description

Professor Lucas Lepri explains how to pass an opponent’s spider and lasso guard using a leg drag pass. Lucas begins by circling his hand out of the lasso. If he is unable to completely circle the hand out, he simply circles it behind the opponent’s leg and punches down. When the opponent releases the sleeve grip to either regrip the sleeve or grip Lucas’ collar, Lucas immediately executes the leg drag before the opponent has time to establish a grip. As he pushes the leg across his body, he uses his other hand to block the opponent’s other leg when the opponent tries recompose the guard. Lucas releases the leg closest to him and puts his head down, grabbing underneath the opponent’s shoulder. From this position he can either stay in knee on belly or complete the transition to side control.
