Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get the straight ankle lock, when the opponent tries to defend with a leg drag. Lucas has the spider guard and unbalances the opponent by making him step forward. Lucas immediately hooks the leg with his arm and transitions to the one leg x. He then connects his hands together and attempts to sweep the opponent. In this variation, the opponent leg drags Lucas’ leg before he is able to sweep. Lucas now has to create space so he can use his bottom foot to hook it under the leg. He now pushes the opponent away and is able to slide his other leg out. From this position, Lucas now adjusts and gets the straight ankle lock submission.
