Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from a straight ankle lock attempt, when in the one leg x. Lucas starts to defend by gripping the bottom leg and places his other hand on the foot. He pushes down on both and turns his knee in. The hand that was on the foot is now placed on the mat near the opponent’s head. Lucas now back steps as he pushes the leg down allowing him to be on the side. In this variation, the opponent tries to turn into Lucas. Lucas uses his leg to trap the opponent’s. The hand that was gripping the leg is now used to grip the back of the pants and the other hand now grips the back of the neck. Lucas now rolls forward and uses the hook on the leg to make the opponent turn over. From here, Lucas can now take the back control.
