Description

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a series of techniques starting with the Toreada pass defense and finishing with an armbar from the standing closed guard. The situation begins with the opponent in Lucas’ open guard. The opponent attempts a Toreada pass to side control, but Lucas prevents it by blocking the opponent’s shoulder. The opponent responds by transitioning to the knee on belly. Lucas escapes the knee on belly by pushing the opponent’s hip and knee as he bridges and shrimps out, creating space to block the opponent’s body with his feet. From this position, Lucas grips the opponent’s elbows and establishes the closed guard while his opponent remains standing. Lucas now grips one sleeve and underhooks the opposite leg to turn his body and pass his leg over the opponent’s head, where he releases the leg to complete the armbar submission.
