Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to apply the over-under pass when the opponent defends against his toreada pass using the knee shield. With one hand gripping near the hip and the other gripping the knee, Lucas circles to the side of the grip on the knee and traps the opponent's bottom leg with his shin when the opponent frames to defend. In this situation the opponent secures a solid knee shield, so Lucas lowers his body and switches his grip from the hip to the back of the pants, trapping the opponent's shin on his biceps. Lucas then drives forward to open the opponent's knee slightly and digs his chin into the opponent's hip. He then passes by lifting his hips and moving his knee behind the opponent's thigh before switching his grip from the knee to the belt or lower back. Lucas finishes the pass by releasing the grip on the pants, moving his elbow to trap the opponent's far hip, and wrapping his other arm around the opponent's head to secure the side control position.
