Worm Guard Escape by Backstepping and Changing Base (Advanced)

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from the worm guard and gets to the side control. The opponent has the de la riva and is also controlling the lapel with the lasso. Lucas immediately controls the lasso side sleeve. Lucas is not able to defend and the opponent sits up and feeds the lapel to his other hand. Lucas now tries to make the opponent turn to the side by pulling on the collar or by pushing down on the de la riva knee. He now back steps and posts his hand on the mat over the opponent while still maintaining the grips. From here, Lucas can now transition to the side control position.
