Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from the worm guard and get the back take. The opponent has the de la riva and is also controlling the lapel with the lasso. Lucas immediately controls the lasso side sleeve. The opponent sits up and feeds the lapel to his other hand. Lucas now tries to make the opponent turn to the side by pulling on the collar or by pushing down on the de la riva knee. He now back steps and posts his hand on the mat over the opponent while still maintaining the grips. Lucas now changes his base and starts to go for the side control position. The opponent reacts by pushing Lucas away. Lucas takes advantage of this to slide his arm under the opponent’s and grips the back, pinning the arm with his elbow. From here, Lucas now jumps over the opponent and rolls over the shoulder. He uses his legs to push the opponent down and then controls the pants. From this position, Lucas is now able to take the back control.
