Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get a reverse armbar, omoplata or cross collar choke after sweeping the opponent. Lucas starts with the opponent in his closed guard. The opponent starts to stand up in an attempt to open the guard. Lucas immediately grips the bottom of the pants and opens his guard so he can transition to the de la riva with lasso. Lucas now switches the hooks under the legs and moves his hips to his side, while also reaching for the same side collar after releasing the grip on the pants. He now pulls the opponent in and lifts his leg to sweep him to the side. In this scenario, the opponent attempts to come back onto Lucas by under hooking. Lucas locks the arm on the side and brings his leg over the shoulder to get the reverse armbar. If the opponent attempts to spin to escape, Lucas immediately transitions to the omoplata. Another variation is if the opponent tries to push back while caught in the omoplata, then Lucas switches his legs to lock the arm so he can reach for the collar to get the cross collar choke.
