Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take an opponents back, transitioning from a half guard position and finishing with an arm triangle. As the opponent has Lucas in his half guard, Lucas makes sure to stay tight on his opponent by having one arm behind the opponents head and the other arm is controlling the opponents arm. He then moves his arm down to feed the opponents lapel to the arm that is controlling the opponents head. Once Lucas has control of the opponents lapel, he then pushes the opponent's elbow up while at the same time placing his own elbow on the ground to prevent his opponent from being able to move his arm. He then moves his head to the ground and applies shoulder pressure on the opponent. While applying the shoulder pressure he uses his free hand to push on the opponents hip so he can slide his knee out of the half guard. Once he does this, the opponent reacts by trying to bridge. Lucas takes that opportunity to back step to create a little bit of space and momentum so he can bring one leg over the opponent and rolls the opponent over to the back take position. The whole time Lucas never lost control of the lapel, causing the opponent to be trapped in an arm triangle position as his back is taken by Lucas.
