Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get a knee bar after attempting to sweep using the single leg x. Lucas starts with the de la riva and the opponent pushes his leg down. He uses the opponent’s action to pull on the collar to unbalance him. By pulling on the collar, Lucas makes the opponent post on the mat with their hands. This makes their leg lighter so Lucas can under hook it and transition to the one leg x. He attempts to sweep the opponent from this position, but the opponent maintains their base. Lucas keeps tension on the opponent and uses it to under hook the leg, bringing the foot all the way to the shoulder. Lucas now switches the hooks under the legs for an x guard variation. He uses this position to lift the opponent up. Once up, he figure fours his legs and sweeps the opponent back. The position that they land on makes it perfect for Lucas to get a knee bar submission.
