Professor Lucas Lepri shows a variation on how to get the armbar by attempting an americana submission from the mount. Lucas has the mount control and the opponent is defending by keeping their arms up and protecting their neck. Lucas pushes the top arm down by controlling the elbow and wrist but the opponent reacts by pulling back. Lucas uses that reaction to push the opponent’s arm the other way and pins it down by placing his chest over it. He slides his bottom arm under the opponent’s neck and control’s the wrist of the arm that was pushed. Lucas now pulls on the arm to make him turn, allowing him to get the s mount. He now secures the arm with a kimura lock. From here, Lucas then slides his arm out and steps over with his outside leg to finish with the armbar submission.
