Butterfly Sweep Counter to Side Control (Advanced)

Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to counter a butterfly sweep. The opponent has the butterfly guard on Lucas and attempts to sweep. Lucas starts the defense by gripping the bottom leg. As the opponent raises Lucas, Lucas places his head on the mat and raises his hips. As he’s up there, he spins his hips to remove the opponent’s butterfly leg. Lucas then drops his hips on the other side and gets the side control position.
