Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates what to do when the opponent holds the pant leg to prevent Lucas from executing the escape shown in the previous technique. As in the previous technique, Lucas first pushes on the opponent’s lower leg to escape his knee. In this situation, the opponent prevents Lucas from completing the escape by keeping his grips on the pant leg, keeping Lucas’ foot trapped. Lucas puts his weight forward, putting his foot on the ground across the opponent’s body. He pushes the opponent’s knee down and uses his other hand to establish a same-side collar grip. Lucas uses his elbow and knee to put pressure on the opponent, keeping the opponent’s knee down. Lucas then grabs the opponent’s back as he drops his knee on the floor and clubs the head. From here Lucas can complete the transition to side control.
