Description

Professor Donovan Espinosa teaches how to defend from a bear hug and shows how to take the opponent down with a hip throw. The opponent bear hugs Donovan, trapping both arms. Donovan starts to escape by placing his hands on the hips. This allows him to push the opponent back to create space. Donovan then steps to the side and controls the hip and the arm to prevent the opponent from coming back. He precedes to step in front of the opponent, keeping his feet in between the opponent’s legs and aligned with his own shoulders. Donovan now squats down and leans forward to throw the opponent over with his hips. From here, once the opponent is on the ground Donovan finishes with the side control position.
