Professor Lucas Lepri shows a technique he taught at the Lotus Club Fight & Fitness seminar in Arizona. In this technique, Lucas shows how to defend the berimbolo and take the back when the opponent starts from the de la riva. As the opponent goes for the berimbolo, Lucas follows by rolling with the opponent. In this variation, the opponent uses the reverse de la riva after the roll to defend Lucas’ knee cut. Lucas switches the grip on the collar and uses it to push the opponent in the opposite direction. He applies pressure forward and posts on the mat with his other hand. From here, Lucas then passes to the side control. Depending on the opponent's reaction he can take the back control or finish with the kimura.
