Butterfly Guard Sweep Attempt Counter to Knee Cut Pass (Intermediate)

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to counter a butterfly sweep using the knee cut pass. The opponent has Lucas in the butterfly guard and starts to turn Lucas to the side in an attempt to sweep. Lucas reacts by leaning to the opposite direction of the sweep so he can bring his knee up. He uses the knee to block the opponent. From here, Lucas leans to the other side and cuts his knee over the opponent’s leg to go for the knee cut pass. Lucas then stays on the side control position.
