Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from a closed guard and transition to an over under pass to side control. Lucas starts by posturing up while also keeping his toes up. He then controls both lapels and holds them with one hand while pressing down on the opponent’s chest with the palm of his hand to prevent the opponent wrist locking him if he is pulled down. He then uses his free hand to grab the sleeve of the opponent and traps the arm across the opponent’s belly. Lucas then raises the same side leg of the opponent’s arm he grabbed and starts standing up. Once he is standing and posturing up, he uses the hand that was holding the lapels to push on the opponent’s knee while at the same time stepping back to open the guard. Once he opens the guard, he goes for the over under, connecting his hands palm-to-palm and puts the opponent’s hips on his lap. Lucas then cross grips the lapel with one hand with his palm facing down and then grabs the back of the opponents pants with his other hand. He applies pressure and stays on top, little by little he starts walking to the side until he can pass and establish the side control.
