Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a variation on how to sweep the opponent when they try to open the guard by standing up. Lucas has the opponent in his closed guard and the opponent stands up in an attempt to open the guard. In this scenario, Lucas is not able to sweep the opponent because they defend by turning the knee in. Lucas reacts by feeding the sleeve to the arm that under hooks the leg. He then grips the same side collar with his other hand. With the opponent not being able to break the grips, Lucas now opens his guard and locks the omoplata. He uses this position to sweep the opponent. From here, Lucas posts out and then transitions to the side control.
