Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to transition to the Omoplata from the closed guard. He then shows how to get the armbar when the opponent defends the Omoplata. Lucas has the opponent in the closed guard and the opponent has their hands along Lucas’ torso. Lucas then pushes the opponent’s head in the direction the opponent is looking. He shrimps out and brings his top leg over pinching the opponent’s arm. Lucas then places his foot under the shin to create enough space for him to take his other leg out. Once he takes his leg out, Lucas locks the Omoplata position. The opponent defends by coming up and posting with his legs. Lucas then switches his hips and brings his near side knee in and pulls on the arm getting the opponent in the armbar submission.
