Professor Donovan Espinosa teaches how to get the straight arm lock from the closed guard. Donovan has the opponent in his closed guard. He breaks the posture down and reaches over the opponent’s shoulder and under the arm to grip his hands together. Donovan now shifts his hips out to the side and brings his other arm over the opponent’s head to push the neck away. He now hip escapes a little more so he can place his inside leg on the hip and the other leg on the opponent’s shoulder. From this position, Donovan can now finish the straight arm lock.
