De La Riva Defense to Knee Cut Pass Attempt to Side Control Variation (Advanced)

Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get to the side control position after attempting to pass using the knee cut pass. The opponent has the de la riva and Lucas controls the hip and inside the leg. He turns his knee in and kicks the leg out. Lucas starts to walk to the side and tries to knee cut. The opponent defends by placing the knee in to block Lucas. Lucas now releases the grip on the hip and grips the opponent’s back. The knee is now pushed off the leg and circled over the opponent’s leg. Lucas then brings his other leg over to the other side trapping the leg and finishes by going to the side control position.
