Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a sweep and pass from sit-up guard. Lucas begins in De La Riva guard and breaks the opponent's grip on his lapel. He then sits up, wraps his arm around the opponent's leg, and grips his own wrist to maintain control of the opponent's sleeve. Next he transfers the grip on the sleeve to the other hand, and, when the opponent begins to apply pressure, Lucas posts and moves around to the side of the opponent. He then brings his opponent to the mat by sweeping the leg out from under the opponent and driving him forward. Lucas finishes the sequence by trapping the opponent's legs under his hips, holding the collar, and passing toward the opponent's back into side control.
