Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get the back from a series of attempts when the opponent reacts. Lucas starts with the de la riva guard. He pushes the opponent to the opposite side he has the pants grip by collar dragging him and pushing on the hip with his unhooked foot. The opponent reacts by trying to come back to face Lucas. Lucas takes advantage of this to sweep the opponent in the other direction. When the opponent hits the mat, Lucas inverts himself by pulling on the collar. Once inverted, he crosses his feet together and releases the collar grip so he can then grip around the opponent’s hip. The leg that was on top is brought under the shin, trapping the opponent’s leg. Lucas releases the grip on the de la riva grip and grips the other leg instead. As he grips the leg, Lucas brings his other leg under the shin and uses his other leg to post on the mat as the comes on top dragging the leg. Lucas then moves to the other side and gets the side control. The opponent tries to escape by turning away. Lucas then slides one knee in and brings his other foot over the opponent’s leg. He then uses the top leg to twist the opponent, making him give Lucas his back. Lucas then puts his hooks in and takes the back.
