Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to stop an opponent who is trying to do the knee cut pass by going to the deep half guard and transitioning to the clock choke. Lucas starts in the De La Riva position and pushes on the opponent’s far side leg as he comes up and grips the near side leg. From here the opponent tries to go for the knee cut pass. Lucas immediately bumps the opponent and goes to the deep half guard. The opponent tries to go for Lucas’ arm and Lucas takes advantage of this by bumping him with his shoulder so he can slide his other arm under the leg. He now uses both of his hands to feed the lapel to his far side hand and grips the pants or belt with his other hand. Lucas then releases his legs and bumps as he turns the opponent back. Lucas now has both of his hands gripping the lapel on both sides under the opponent’s legs. He places one elbow on the mat and steps with his opposite leg out. He slides his other leg along the opponent’s body and pulls on him to get him to turn but the opponent comes back to the same position. Lucas tries again and this time he brings his outside leg over the opponent and switches base. The opponent tries to go for Lucas’ leg and Lucas grabs the opponent’s collar. He brings his other arm over the opponent’s head and starts walking to the side, finishing the clock choke submission.
