Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates how to use a leg sweep to take the opponent down, starting with the De La Riva. Lucas has the De La Riva on the opponent and pushes him a little so he can slide his hand under the leg and grips his own ankle. The other leg is placed between the opponent’s legs and is used to push the opponent towards Lucas. In this scenario, Lucas can’t reach for the opponent’s far side leg. Lucas instead transitions to the One Leg X and then pushes the opponent away. The opponent stands up and Lucas uses a leg sweep to take him down.
