De La Riva to Technical Stand Up to Ankle Pick Sweep (Advanced)

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates how to use an ankle pick to take the opponent down, starting with the De La Riva. Lucas has the De La Riva on the opponent and pushes him a little so he can slide his hand under the leg and grips his own ankle. The other leg is placed between the opponent’s legs and is used to push the opponent away. As he is pushing the opponent away, Lucas also uses his hand to push the opponent. The leg is then placed on the opponent’s thigh to prevent him from coming back. In this scenario, Lucas slides the opponent’s leg onto his shoulder and then immediately does a technical stand up. Once they are standing, Lucas controls the opponent’s knee and then reaches for the ankle to sweep the opponent.
