Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows a series of attacks from the sit up guard, after attempting an overhead sweep from the x guard. Lucas has the de la riva and is pushing and pulling the opponent to make them lose balance. The opponent reacts by stepping over the leg in an attempt to start escaping the de la riva. When the opponent steps over, Lucas immediately locks his legs together behind the opponent’s leg. He uses this to once again unbalance the opponent making him post on the mat. Lucas takes advantage of this and under hooks the near side leg. He also changes the grip on the pants by re-gripping under the foot instead of over. Lucas extends his leg to lift the opponent up so he can transition to the x guard. In this variation, Lucas attempts an overhead sweep but is not able to because the opponent defends. Lucas instead uses his feet to push the opponent away and sits up. With the grip on the collar, Lucas now leans back and immediately brings his leg over the shoulder and locks the feet together. From here, Lucas can lock the triangle, get the canto choke, omoplata or get an omoplata sweep.
