Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a drill on how to prevent the opponent from jumping guard. Lucas and the opponent start standing and Lucas has the grips on the collar and arm. As the opponent places the foot on the hip, Lucas blocks the hip with the hand he was gripping the arm with. In this variation, Lucas isn’t able to pull the opponent by the collar. Lucas instead, moves the hand that was on the hips to the leg. He pushes the leg down and moves to the side. From here, Lucas goes to the north south position.
