Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to take the opponent’s back and get an armbar after pulling guard. Lucas controls the collar and sleeve. He pulls guard leaning to the side to avoid the opponent from passing to the other side. He unbalances the opponent so he can transition to the de la riva. The opponent attempts to break the collar grip, and Lucas unbalances him as soon as he goes for the grip. Lucas then immediately comes up to the sit up guard. From the sit up guard, Lucas attempts to stand up, but the opponent has a good base. Lucas immediately comes back to the de la riva. He attempts to sweep the opponent over his head, but the opponent once again defends by posting. Lucas takes advantage of this and immediately stands up, allowing him to go for the back. He pulls the opponent down to secure the back control. From here, Lucas can also go for an armbar if he can not finish from the back.
