Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from the opponent’s half guard. Lucas starts in the opponent’s half guard. He immediately under hooks the opponent’s far side arm before they are able to also under hook. Lucas now controls the head with his other arm and applies pressure to keep the opponent flat on the mat. He now takes the opponent’s lapel out and feeds it to the hand behind the head. Lucas uses his shoulder to apply pressure on the opponent. The outside hand is now used to push the opponent’s leg down, so Lucas can slide his knee out. From here, he under hooks once again and cuts his knee to the side to pass.
