Description

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates how to get the regular armbar by transitioning from the half guard to the butterfly guard after attempting to do a reverse armbar. Lucas has the opponent in his half guard and the opponent changes the base. Lucas lifts his knees so he can reach for the opponent’s knee. He then hooks the foot and raises the opponent’s leg. As the leg is raised, Lucas then brings his knees inside and gets the butterfly guard. The opponent tries to posture up and Lucas immediately traps the arm, slides his hips out and brings his leg over and tries to get the reverse armbar. In this scenario, the opponent prevents it by rolling forward. Lucas instead finishes with the regular armbar.
