Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to sweep the opponent using the butterfly guard, even when the opponent tries to defend. Lucas starts with the opponent in his half guard. The hand that is over the shoulder is used to grip the belt while the other hand is used to block the hips. Lucas now hip escapes and slides one butterfly guard hook in. He then squares up to get the other hook in. The grip from the belt is lowered to the side to trap the arm. In this variation, when Lucas gets to this position the opponent tries to defend by posturing up. Lucas just follows the opponent up and then sweeps to the side.
