Professor Lucas Lepri explains how to pass the reverse De La Riva guard and submit from the back when an opponent defends against the pass with a lasso. Lucas begins with a knee cut to leg drag pass, but when the opponent tries to defend with a lasso, Lucas punches the other leg down and circles around to side control. When the opponent tries to prevent the pass by turning away, Lucas switches his grip from the back to over top of the opponent's shoulder and he enters his top hook. He then drags the opponent back and secures the back control position. When the opponent defends against the choke, Lucas controls one arm and traps the other with his leg. He finishes by securing the collar with his choking hand, climbing with his legs, and applying the double lapel choke.
