Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates how to escape from the knee on belly position. As the opponent has Lucas in the knee on belly position, the first thing Lucas does is grab the opponent’s ankle of the knee that is on his stomach. He also puts his other hand on top of the opponent's knee. Lucas then bridges by lifting his hips off the ground and then pushes the opponent’s knee off and puts the opponent’s leg between his own legs, trapping it in his half guard. Lucas then switches his legs trapping the opponent’s leg and uses his elbow to create space to bring his other knee in. He then uses the same arm to block the opponent’s arm as he switches his hips, pulls his other knee out, and recomposes the closed guard.
