Lasso Prevention to Side Control (Intermediate)

Special guest Felipe Linhares teaches a technique at Lucas Lepri Jiu Jitsu Academy. In this technique, Felipe shows how to prevent the opponent from establishing the lasso from the spider guard. The opponent has the spider guard and tries to circle one leg around to go for the lasso. As soon as the opponent goes for it, Felipe immediately circles his hand out and places it on top of the opponent’s tight. He then circles his other hand around the leg and pushes the leg down. From here, Felipe goes for the knee cut pass to the side control position.
